Retirement of .per.sg

Why is SGNIC no longer accepting new registrations of .per.sg names?
The .per.sg extension will be fully retired in March 2023 due to low demand. SGNIC is thus not accepting anymore new registrations for the .per.sg extension from 1 April 2020 onwards.
Will my .per.sg name still be renewable upon expiration?
Your .per.sg domain name will still be renewable upon expiration, until the .per.sg extension is fully retired in March 2023. You are advised to migrate to a new .sg domain name before that. If you are the existing registrant of a .per.sg domain name as at March 2020, SGNIC should have already reached out to you via email with more details and instructions.
I have a .per.sg name now and will need some time to migrate to a new .sg domain name. How long can I keep my .per.sg name for?
Your .per.sg domain name will still be renewable upon expiration, until the .per.sg extension is fully retired in March 2023. You are advised to migrate to a new .sg domain name before that. If you are the existing registrant of a .per.sg domain name as at March 2020, SGNIC should have already reached out to you via email with more details and instructions.
What will happen to my .per.sg domain name/website/email if I do not migrate to a new .sg domain name when SGNIC fully retires the .per.sg extension?
When SGNIC fully retires the .per.sg extension in March 2023, all domain names ending with .per.sg will no longer be resolvable on the Internet. This would mean that all websites ending with .per.sg and emails utilising .per.sg domain names will no longer be able to function.
What other extensions am I eligible for if I would like to migrate my .per.sg domain name to a new .sg domain name?
Existing registrants interested in registering domain names in other extensions like .com.sg, .org.sg, etc, may wish to check the registration criteria for such extensions to see if they are eligible. The registration criteria can be found here
I need to migrate my .per.sg website to a new .sg domain name. Will SGNIC cover my migration costs?
SGNIC will not be able to cover the costs you might incur for your migration to a new .sg domain name.
Can SGNIC help me archive my .per.sg website?

SGNIC will not be able to assist in the archiving of your existing website. You may wish to check if your web designer or hosting provider can provide this service to you.

What will happen to the remaining period of my .per.sg domain name registration when SGNIC retires the .per.sg extension fully?

When SGNIC fully retires the .per.sg extension in March 2023, any remaining registration period left on your .per.sg domain name will be forfeited. For the avoidance of doubt, registration fees for any remaining registration period on your name will not be refunded. You are advised to migrate to a new .sg domain name before that.

I wish to register the same name (that I am currently using in .per.sg) in another extension. However, the name is already taken in that extension. What can I do?
Domain names are registered on a first-come-first-served basis. If the name you wish to register is already registered by another party, you would need to choose another name. You can also check if a name is available for registration by using the WHOIS function on the SGNIC Website.
Will there be a price increase for the new domain name that I register?
Prices and available services vary from registrar to registrar. Please check with your preferred registrar on its price packages.
