mou_signingThe Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the mutual hosting of each organisation's secondary DNS servers.

The signing was held on 26th October 2009 in Seoul, in conjunction with the 36th ICANN Public Meeting held there.

KISA was formed on 23 July 2009 and is a result of a merger of three agencies: Korea Information Security Agency, National Internet Development Agency of Korea and the Korea IT International Cooperation Agency.

Possessing a well-equipped data centre with 24/7 server monitoring, KISA also has excellent connectivity with a gigabit backbone to many ISPs.

SGNIC is pleased to be able to collaborate with KISA to improve the reliability and accessibility of .sg domain names.

SGNIC, being the national registry for .sg names, strives to constantly improve its offerings and technical back-end services to provide the best for its end-users.

With this new arrangement, SGNIC will have better geographically distributed secondary servers to improve accessibility and hence the efficiency of the domain name system.
